In this level, a third low calorie meal is introduced and the OPTIFAST VLCD products are eliminated. Dietary intake now consists of: 3 calorie-controlled meals (approximately 350 calories each), at least 2 cups of low-starch vegetables, 2 serves of fruit, 1 serve of dairy and 2 litres of water. The total calorie intake is approximately 1500 calories. The nutrition component of this level requires ongoing monitoring for meal plan adjustments and education.
